Can we agree that button down tops are super versatile?

I have a few, but I rarely reach for them, so I wouldn’t consider them a staple for me. Well, with the exception of my chambray. That baby is on constant repeat. Annnyways, the other day I came across a picture of a women in an oversized button down top, and I knew instantly I wanted to recreate the look.

Her button down top had a complete casual, relaxed feel about it. Just hanging off her shoulder all nonchalantly. It was perfect.

I ended up coming across this oversized button down top the other day and decided it was the perfect opportunity to try the look out for myself.

Of course it’s not nearly as effortless and cool on me, but I’m kind of into the look. It’s definitely a fun twist on the button down top.

I’ve also seen several other images of girls wearing their button downs full-on off-the-shoulder. Another extremely cool look that I will definitely be trying now that I have an oversized button down.

Button down tops are a pretty versatile piece as is, easily going from work appropriate to the perfect relaxed weekend look. But having this little extra style that is a bit different, but still chic, is always fun.

It’s an easy look to pull off. Just get an oversized button down top, leave the top few buttons unbuttoned, and pull it down off of one shoulder (or both!). Easy.

I’m thinking it’s the perfect date night look or just any casual night out really.

So what are your thoughts? Would you guys try this look out or have you? I would love to know your thoughts!

Yes I would definitely try this look! I’m not a huge fan of button downs myself, but I do have a few for work that I like. I love that you are wearing yours with strappy heels. I think it definitely dresses it up a bit!

Love this button. up, Shannon! I’ve been eyeing the black & white silk one over at Everlane which reminds me of this one you are wearing. I frequently wear button ups like this but I almost never photograph them for the blog bc I’m scared I’ll look puffy on camera. You pulled it off perfectly still looking lean and effortless. Maybe I’ll give it a shot:)
