How To Dress Up Your Cardigan For A Perfect Transitional Look

Cardigans and slip dresses is my new favorite combo.

I know I say this a lot, but I really am into this combo. In Monday’s post featuring another slip dress and sweater combo, I mentioned that sweaters aren’t really my thing. Same goes for cardigans.

Truth is, I’ve always loved the laid back vibe of cardigans, but every time I would buy one, I would never wear it. I ended up buying this long cardigan during the big Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and I’ve actually been looking forward to wearing it. So maybe things are officially changing when it comes to sweaters/cardigans in my wardrobe 🙂

Not really being able to cozy up in the cardigan, I decided to bust it out for more of a transitional look. It was the perfect piece to pair with a slip dress that created a dressed up, yet casual, laid back vibe. Wearing the cardigan off-the-shoulder definitely gives a bit of a sexy feel, but (at least for me) it certainly isn’t over doing it. Sexy, but still subtle is always a good idea.

Since I decided to purchase this cardigan I am going to be making a point to wear it. I’ve already worn it to work with an all black outfit and styling it for the weekend with a classic jeans and tee look will be a go-to for me soon enough. Another look that I am seeing every where with the cardigan is styling it with a little lace cami. I fully plan on recreating this look several times as well.

So on that note…TGIF! We don’t have anything too exciting going on this weekend. I believe we are going to start a closet makeover for me. Nothing drastic because my closet is one of those super small basic closets, but just rearranging adding new shelves. Trying to make it more practical I guess. We shall see what comes of it.

I love this look! The combo of the textures is so stylish + it’ll be so great as the weather slowlyyy changes from hot to cold.

I absolutely love your hair like this. I wish I could do it. I would look like I have a bee hive stuck to my head. My turn for hair envy!
As for the slip dress and cardi, yes! Big yes. Simple, sexy, elegant perfection.
You know, I actually wear cardis a lot at home with a fitted tee and leggings or joggers. One of my favorite cozy lounging ensembles. Also, with a fitted tee and Levi’s for casual wear. You could probably get wear out of yours in those places where the AC is cranked and you need an extra layer. I feel like cardis look amazing with camisoles and little Lacey tops like you have. Your cardi is so versatile, so much you can do with it.
    XO! Gina
