We all know that florals for spring is “groundbreaking”, but what about florals for fall?
Floral prints are usually saved for the spring and summer months, but lately it seems floral prints for the fall/winter months is also a thing. And I’m totally on board with it. The prints this time of year aren’t as light and airy, but more dark and moody. Nonetheless pretty though.
There are so many good pieces available now that it is easy to work the dark florals into your wardrobe this season without feeling like you are still dressing for spring/summer. I am partial to keeping the print and outfit dark this time of year. So, all black is obviously a go-to for me, but finding a floral print in a deep red, yellow or orange keeps with autumnal tone of the season as well.
Florals can become super girly very easily, but the darker tones can mute that a little bit. This specific top, with the ruffle shoulder detail, necktie and floral print is definitely feminine, but not the type of girl you normally think of when you think florals.
So how can you add some floral to your wardrobe this season? Easy! Here are some ideas…
- Leather jackets are an absolute go-to for fall/winter. So why not grab one with some embroidered flowers? It’s subtle, but still a perfect way to add florals into a look.
- Embroidered jeans are also an easy way to incorporate the trend. Pair them with a cozy sweater and layer on a jacket.
- Pair a dark floral dress with over-the-knee boots for a romantic look.
- Layering a turtleneck under a floral top or dress is a great way to succeed at this trend while still staying warm.
Basically, as long as you are keeping your floral look appropriate for the season as far as layers and warmth goes, you should be good with any look.
It’s an easy and pretty trend and one I definitely hopes stays around for a while.
Would you girls wear florals in the fall/winter?
